A Gravity-free & Power-free IV Injection Device
Golden Capsule is a power-free and gravity-free intravenous injection device designed for disaster rescue scenarios. There are fatal limitations to use conventional IV systems in disaster sites. First, moving through rubble-filled, mountainous, or narrow environment while carrying several intravenous packs is extremely difficult and dangerous that may cause physical injury of rescuers. Second, it is difficult to achieve over the full-drip rates often required in emergency situations using gravity-based method. With Golden Capsule, rescuers do not have to hold IV packs in their hands because it employs elastic force and negative pressure to consistently administer medicine, without relying on electricity. It can be easily adjusted for injection speed, even demonstrating an infusion rate 1.5 times faster than that of gravity-based IV systems, eliminating the need for manual squeezing of IV bags. Easily attachable to stretchers, it also enhances rescuer efficiency.
